Though we’ve known for a couple weeks now that Mistura, Peru’s largest and most important food festival, would once again take place on the Costa Verde in Lima from September 5 to 14, we’ve got some new details about the festival to share.  This year’s theme will be ‘Biodiversity and Nutrition,’ focusing on the wide variety that Peru’s national pantry has to offer.  The second international gastronomic meeting, in which renowned chefs from around the world (think René Redzepi, Massimo Bottura, Magnus Nilsson), will take place during the first days of the festival, from September 5 to 7.  An official list of participants hasn’t been announced just yet, but more information will be given out by organizing body APEGA in the upcoming weeks.  We’ll pass it on as we get it.  Regardless, start your workout regimen now, and prepare for another unforgettable nine days of the best food and culture that Peru has to offer.  Below, a taste of last year.
