In just over two weeks, Argentina could, for the first time ever, bring home gold from the rigorous Bocuse D’Or culinary competition, which will take place in Lyon, France. Representing Argentina is Emiliano Schobert, a chef at San Carlos de Bariloche’s El Obrador Escuela de Arte Culinaria, who has been preparing for the competition for close to two years. He, along with Chile’s Mauricio Nuñez, and Guatemala’s Marcos Saenz, will represent Latin America in the competition, all three of whom won their coveted spots after competing at the Azteca Latin American Culinary Competition in 2013.

If you’re lucky enough to be hanging out in the South of France next Friday, October 3, and you want a big dose of Argentine flavors, then you should probably make your reservation for this epic dinner.  Argentine-cum-French chef Mauro Colagreco, chef and owner of Mirazur, has invited a few of his Argentine friends over for a one-night-only dinner that promises to be nothing short of spectacular.  Colagreco, along with Narda Lepes, Fernando Trocca, German Martitegui, and Dario Gualtieri (basically Argentina’s all-star team of cooks) will be doing a dinner by 10 hands all mixed with drinks from Tato Giovannoni, voted Latin America’s best bartender.  Dinner is going for 185 Euros, which includes wines, drinks, and service.  Reservations can be made via Mirazur at reservation@mirazur.fr.  Provecho.
