By Patrick HiegerLittle by little, Chile is starting to gain international recognition for the wealth of products that the country has to offer, from Andean tubers to spices from the desert, and more than 4,000 km of coast line teeming with the best seafood in the world. To get a taste of this bounty, Pata de Perro of Nat Geo’s Latin American travel show One Wey, landed in Santiago to begin his tour of the country’s diverse terrain and unique culinary offerings. Santiago may not yet have the fame that cities like São Paulo or Lima have, but with one of the top restaurants in Latin America, and king crab available almost year round, the bevvy of delights is well worth the trip.
Watch here as Alonso Vera eats his way through Santiago, from the Mercado Central to Boragó, discovering ingredients that can only be found in Chile, to the wines that have been slowly winning over the world.
