Last year in New York City, Wines of Chile brought together nearly 20 of the city’s top sommeliers for a chance to win a trip to Chile. As part of a competition they called Wine Bar Wars, the participating sommeliers were divided into groups, then given two weeks to develop a bar from which they could serve and talk about the incredible variety and selection of Chilean wines. Not just a competition for the sommeliers, the event was a chance for more than 400 guests to taste the great wines for which Chile is gaining notoriety. More simply, it was a big, delicious promotional stunt.

When Pablo Neruda sat down to write his famed ‘Oda al Vino’ (Ode To Wine), he probably wasn’t imagining a group of semi-naked men and women doing readings of the poem while covered in Wines of Chile banners. But, in this new video from Scottish bottle shop Luvians, watch as a couple of scantily-clad ladies and burly, red-bearded Scot chug wine and give praise to Neruda, as well as some Chilean wine, all while reading the famed poem.  You may never think of Chilean wine in the same way again.
